Patrol Division
The personnel assigned to this unit are responsible for Emergency
Response, Reactive and Preventative Patrol, Criminal & Traffic
Enforcement and Service Response. A Police Captain commands
the division, and 2 Police Lieutenants provide management
and administrative oversight of the operational activities
of their respective work units. First-line supervision is
provided by eight Police Sergeants assigned to the 24-hour
police patrol squads.
The
Patrol Division is responsible for meeting the majority of
the public's expectation of basic police services. The
personnel assigned to this unit respond to over 40,000
calls for police service annually.
Also included in the Patrol Division are the Police Reserves,
Emergency Response Team (SWAT), and the Crisis Negotiations
Team.
