Criminal Investigations Division

The detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division are divided into specific areas of investigations. There are currently five detectives assigned to investigate crimes against persons. These crimes include, homicide, assault, robbery, and missing persons. One detective is assigned to investigate arsons. Six detectives investigate crimes against property. These include burglary, auto theft, and financial crimes. The Special Assault Unit is comprised of six detectives that investigate sex crimes, crimes against children, domestic violence, and runaways. One of these detectives is responsible for the tracking and leveling of sex offenders living in the city limits.
