G.R.E.A.T. stands for Gang Resistance Education and Training. Great is a partnership program between the YPD and the Yakima School District. It teaches Life Skills and the ability to avoid gang involvement. Click here for more information

R.A.D.

“Program not currently active”

RAD teaches women the art of avoiding assault situations and the skills to defend against them should they occur. A team of specially trained YPD officers teach the program. Click for more information

YPAL

YPAL is an organization staffed by YPD personnel that brings cops and kids together while teaching positive life skills. It gives kids healthy activities to fill their leisure time and encourages academic performance.

CRIME FREE RENTAL HOUSING

The Crime Free Rental Housing program is a partnership between the Yakima Police Department, local landlords, and tenants working together to foster a safer and healthier community in rental housing. More details here.
